Riding finally ramping up again
Got some nice rides in the last week, rode to Holmes lake on the bicycleta d'oro (his lazy owner has still not installed front der.), must adjust front brake it squealed like a pig all the way home. Dave D. brought me some brake pads for the Hayes discs that he had kicking around in his stuff, so have to thank him for that. Rode to Bennett on Saturday with Monkey Girl and her Hubby on his new Ti IF, we paused at Mamasita's and had some lunch before our return, Steve did a convincing impression of looking like his feet were nailed to the pedals as he fell over, so the new clipless pedals are officially broken in. Saw a large herd of Harleys going to Beatrice for a rally, 25 miles and Monkey Girl bought me lunch, what a great day! Sunday, met at the bench with the same crew as yesterday plus Doug and his sister Sharon. Sharon had some nice pink Breast Cancer armwarmers that would make the 'Snob envious. They are getting ready for JDRF ride in Glacier National park. Rode down to the end of the North Jamaica (which is actually south) and then stopped back for coffee at Wilderness Perk. They had a whiteboard up saying it was Cher's b-day and if it was your b-day to ask for a free coffee. I told them I was Cher and it was my b-day. The nice girl working and not being used to being lied to by the patrons tried to give me a free coffee. Maybe I look more like Cher than I realized? So I told her I wasn't really Cher and had to pay up. I also sneaked a quick ride on monday to work after dropping off D's car. Her mechanic helps with the Sertoma ride that was last weekend. So I got a hard time for not being there since we did some mileage there last year
